On Wednesday, bushes in the Akoko were stormed by men of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army Akure, Ondo State.
Seven suspected kidnappers was arrested in their dens.
There have been many reports about kidnappings of travellers on Akure-Owo and Kabba-Auga-Akunnu expressways.
According to Punch news, The activities of the kidnappers in the area informed the action of the army.
The Assistant Director of the Nigeria Army Public Relations, Captain Ojo Adelegan ordered his men to storm the forest where the suspected kidnappers kept their victims.
He said, “The Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Brig. Gen. James Ataguba, personally led the brigade troops for the special operation to comb the kidnappers’ spots in the Akoko area of Ondo State.
“The commander and his troops raided and thoroughly searched various kidnappers’ camps in the bushes at the boundary between Kogi and Ondo states in Akunu Akoko, Ohogo and Ogale communities.
“The operation is aimed at checkmating the incessant kidnapping in the Akoko area of Ondo State.”
