- I am going to be the boss on and off the pitch – Pogba
Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba has hinted that he has a leadership plan going to Russia 2018 with his intentions to be a boss on and off the pitch as he hopes to captain the French national team during the 2018 mundial.
The 25-year-old, who won FIFA best young player award four years ago in Brazil, has made 51 appearances for the French national team and this time he hopes to lead for the Les Blues when the tournament kicks off in June.
When asked if he would emerge as a leader at the World Cup, Pogba told Canal +: “I hope now, at the World Cup.
“I’m going to take the reins of the France team, try to be the boss on and off the pitch.
“I hear it a lot. I hope to give my answer on the pitch and show everyone.
“I was the best young player [in 2014]. I hope I’ll be the best player overall at the World Cup.
“That would be great.”
The midfielder made his debut for France in 2013 in a World Cup qualifier against Georgia.
