Update: Traditionalists seal the house of suspects of raped teenagers in Ondo
Recall the reports on the alleged torture and rape of two teenagers by five men in Ondo town, Ondo State, who filmed and released the video clips of the heinous act on the internet, some traditionalists in the state have however sealed up the houses of the suspects.
Bode Akinsiku, Olabanji Femi, Abiodun Ayodele, Fadairo Wahab, and Adedayo Adebayo who were the suspects are currently in custody, having been ordered to be remanded by Chief Magistrates’ Court for the alleged incident, which took place on Kogbona Street.
Following the episode, the traditionalists in the area are said to have performed some rites over the matter considered a taboo in the town.
A source said that traditional worshippers converged on a spot where they offered prayers before moving to the houses of the alleged rapists.
The source said, “The traditionalists later sent the residents of the houses (of the suspects) out and tied palm fronds around the houses after some incantations.
“They also locked the doors and windows of the houses after which they used some wooden materials to demarcate the houses and chanting incantations while performing the rites.”
