Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has said that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will qualify in Group D behind the Argentine team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Mourinho: Nigeria will qualify second behind Argentina in Group D
Mourinho stated that Gernot Rohr’s men will come second behind Lionel Messi’s Argentina even though it is indeed a touch choice to make.
He said, “In group D, the first place will be taken by Lionel Messi-led Argentina.”
“Second place, very difficult choice, but I put on the African team, Nigeria”.
Going by Mourinho’s prophesy, it would be the second consecutive tournament that the three times African champions would face France in the round of 16.
Recall that, Paul Pogba’s 79th minute strike and a Joseph Yobo own goal in injury time condemned the Eagles to defeat in Brazil 2014.
Nigeria’s friendly match with Czech Republic in their final 2018 pre-World Cup friendly on Wednesday afternoon at Rudolf-Tonn-Stadion Stadium in Austria ended 0-1.
Meaning that Rohr’ side men had lost all the three friendlies in preparation for the Russia mundial.
