Roadblock as Diesel-laden tanker falls on Otedola Bridge area
A diesel-laden tanker, on Monday, fell and spilled its content on the Otedola Bridge area on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to news gathered, The incident was said to have caused gridlock on the expressway, as well as adjourning roads and officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority were deployed in the scene a few hours after the incident.
The LASTMA officials, via its twitter handle, urged motorists to be patient.
The tweets read, “Fallen tanker on Otedola Bridge, emergency responders deployed in the scene. Motorist are advised to be patient.
“The fallen tanker is loaded with diesel, all emergency responders are at the scene of the incident. Road cordoned off for immediate recovery. Motorists are implored to be patient.
“Location of fallen tanker is Mobil inward Otedola enroute Berger. It is covering about 10 per cent of the road. Emergency responders on ground for recovery/traffic building up from Conoil U-turn. Two lanes moving fine beside fallen tanker.”
The General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said the truck had been recovered, adding that the road was free for movement.
