Sports: Klopp: Manchester City are the best team in the world
Ahead of Liverpool’s eagerly awaited Premier League game against Manchester City on Thursday, Jurgen Klopp spoke in glowing terms about his next opponents.
Although the Reds currently sit seven points above Pep Guardiola’s team in the table, the German hailed their quality.
City were the early season favourites to retain their title but two recent defeats for them have allowed Klopp’s side to take pole position by a sizeable margin.
“It is a very complicated game, as they are a very strong team, with an incredible coach,” he said at the pre-match press conference.
“We have to be brave like in the other matches, as for me they are the best team in the world.”
Klopp went on to talk about Kevin De Bruyne’s return from injury.
“He’s a fabulous footballer and losing a player like him is a tremendous blow,” he added.
“I was really happy when he was back and everybody who loves football must love Kevin De Bruyne.”
Guardiola said that the team will check again on the Belgian on Thursday, before taking a final decision on whether he is fit to feature at the Etihad Stadium.
